“On the Water, and On the Move”
Rowlett is one of the best places to move to – but don’t take our word for it! Rowlett was designated “America’s Best Small City to Move To” by Movoto in 2013, and made the list of the Top 25 “Best Places to Live” by Money Magazine! Just 20 minutes from Dallas and located on the shore of the beautiful Lake Ray Hubbard, it’s no wonder why almost 60,000 people call Rowlett home.
The town was incorporated in 1952 when the population was only 250. Since the completion of Lake Ray Hubbard in 1971, the town has experienced a building boom that shows no signs of slowing down! Rowlett has easy access to a major turnpike and light rail system, and the CITY OF ROWLETT ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT ensures that its local companies grow and create jobs. Lots of residents make the commute to Dallas, but Rowlett is fast becoming an economic powerhouse of its own.
Rowlett is great not just for adults and businesses, but for families too! Rowlett is served by two school districts: GARLAND ISD and ROCKWALL ISD. The districts maintain a small-town feeling, but don’t be fooled – they are very large districts that have access to some of the best resources available. And with 13 parks and 4 area lakes, there is no shortage of R&R to be had at the end of the day or on the weekends!
